苏州大学高等研究院是一所刚成立的研究中心，高研院的长期目标是创建一个有创造性的平台，让青年学者们能够成长为未来中国学术界和科技节的领军人物。

高研院目前有两个主要的研究方向：非平衡统计物理和生物物理领域的复杂物质组和固态电子中的奇异量子特性的量子物质组。这两个组都在实验和理论方向均有需求。

高研院坐落于历史悠久的苏州大学，苏州市是著名的江南水乡。俗语说，上有天堂，下有苏杭，欢迎大家来美丽的苏州与我们共筹高等研究院发展。

Message from the Director

The Institute for Advanced Study of Soochow University (IASSU) is a newly founded research center with the long-term goal in fostering a creative research platform from which young scholars can grow as future academic and technological leaders of China. 

The Institute currently has two major research directions: a complex matter group working in the areas of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics and physical biology, and a quantum matter group working in the areas of exotic quantum properties of electrons in solids.   Both groups will have experimental and theoretical activities.

The Institute is located in the historic campus of Soochow University in the center of the beautiful city of Suzhou.
